Cool under pressure, L.A. is a master stylist and seasoned platform artist. Her work has graced the covers of numerous magazines and billboards.

With a knack for pulling off the sensational, L.A. performs as a platform artist for Mizani/L’Oreal USA. She also served in that position for Straight Request and Paul Mitchell. Her print editorial credits include Essence, Sister-2-Sister and Upscale magazines. Her television credits as a stylist include Fox 5 on Good Day Extra; a Coors Beer ad, Nelly and 112 music videos.

Her work appeared on the covers of Passion, Hype Hair, Sophisticate’s Hair, Style Q, Hair World, Mazza, Real Style, Bronner Brothers Fantasy, Salon Sense and Profile. L.A. worked as the onsite stylist for the Miss World Beauty pageant in the Bahamas and frequently serves as creative director on photo shoots.

A fourth generation Floridian, L.A. grew up among a family of stylists, including her mother, three aunts and numerous cousins. Her passion for styling hair emerged as a child. “The hair on my dolls did not last one week, said L.A.

She began her distinguished career in Atlanta in 1987. In less than four years she opened L.A.’s Hair Studio. Creative and precise, she quickly built a clientele of local celebrities, corporate executives, professionals, and models. With an eye on expanding her expertise, L.A. moved to Virginia in 2000 to work at Elle Elle (an upscale salon in the Washington D.C. with celebrity clientele). While at Elle Elle, L.A. continued to flourish and became the salons top senior stylist and mentored Eugene Smith (an editorial stylist with Ted Gibson salon who has appeared on Oprah and in Essence).

L.A. returned to Atlanta in 2004 and re-opened L.A.’s Hair Studio, an upscale boutique salon with the slogan: “You don’t have to be in California to look like a star.”
